Safer Handling of Medication

pot of pillsA one day course designed for the learners to be able to recognise the necessity for correct management of all medicines within the workplace. They will be expected to utilise their current background knowledge and experience in this area - be it within their own workplace or the home environment. 

This course has been mapped to the common induction standards (CIS) and the Health and Social Care (HSC) National Occupational Standards (NOS) in Assist in the Administration of Medication (level 2)

This course is designed to enable the learner to safely administer medication to those individuals in their caring environment. It is aimed at those staff that have no formal nursing experience or registration. E.g., support staff or health care assistants.

Course materials will include such items as medication pots, spoons, syringes, blister packs, MAR sheets etc.
